I’m a huge fan of Silvia Heyden, and her tapestries are still for me a mystery. That’s the reason why I decided to try my hand at it. I first begun with a free weaving, being cautious to use like her a very limited range of colors. The warp is wool, as is the weft. It was pleasant to weave, but far from approaching Heyden’s pieces. So I decided to copy one of her tapestries, my preferred one. I’m am always very far, and I didn’t have the right colors but I understood how she did some parts. So, I learned, I had joy, and I like this second little piece.
J’adore Silvia Heyden, et ses tapisseries sont pour moi une énigme. J’ai donc essayé de tisser comme elle, d’abord en freestyle, en prenant garde de restreindre comme elle le nombre de couleurs. Ca a été sympa, mais très loin de ce qu’elle fait. Alors je puis passée a l`exercice de copie, et même si je suis encore très loin j ai appris plein de trucs, je me suis amusée et j aime bien cette petite pièce. (désolée pour certains accents, clavier américain)
